Thank You for your
Interest in
Chapter 2!!

I’m excited to announce my new 8‑Week “Chapter 2” Photography Workshop, for the first time, this fall. This course is designed for photographers who already understand the basics of exposure and camera operation and are ready to expand their skills through hands‑on practice, creative assignments, and real‑world shooting.

Workshop Structure
This workshop includes 8 sessions in total:
  • 4 classes at Maverick Art Studio (focused instruction, demonstrations, critiques, and guided practice)
  • 4 field sessions (real‑world shooting where you’ll apply the techniques learned in class)
Each session runs 2–3 hours.

Skills You Will Learn
Throughout the workshop, you will develop four major intermediate‑level photography skills:
  • Panoramas — how to plan, shoot, and stitch wide sweeping scenes
  • Multiple Exposures — creative in‑camera techniques for blending images
  • Macro Photography — close‑up detail work using macro lenses or extension tubes
  • Long Exposures Using ND Filters — mastering slow shutter speeds with 3, 6, and 10 stop ND filters

Required Gear
Macro Photography (Studio Sessions)
You will need either a macro lens or a set of autofocus extension tubes compatible with your camera.
If you choose extension tubes, please make sure:
  • They are autofocus (AF)
  • I recommend a set of three tubes (commonly 12mm, 20mm, 36mm)
How to tell if extension tubes are AF: Look for electrical contacts (small metal pins) inside the tube. AF tubes will say:
  • “Autofocus extension tubes”
  • “AF-compatible”
  • “With electronic contacts”
  • “Supports AF and aperture control”
Non‑AF tubes have no contacts and make macro work much more difficult.

Long Exposure Photography (Field Sessions)
Please purchase ND filters in the correct strengths for long‑exposure work:
  • 3 stop ND filter (ND8)
  • 6 stop ND filter (ND64)
  • 10 stop ND filter (ND1000)
Choose the filter size that fits your favorite lens.

General Gear
  • Digital camera with manual controls (mirrorless or DSLR)
  • Your lenses of choice
  • Memory card + fully charged battery
  • Tripod
  • Laptop or tablet for reviewing images
  • Optional: flashlight or cell phone flashlight, reflectors, props

Workshop Cost
The cost for the full 8‑week workshop is $200. This includes all studio sessions, field sessions, instruction, and guided practice.

Location & Time
Maverick Art Studio 106 N. Main Street Cape May Court House, NJ (Directions and details will be provided before the first class.) I haven’t finished making the final dates and time arrangements, but I believe the time will be 4pm-6pm in the classroom and 4pm-6pm or 7pm when on the outings.

I’m thrilled to bring photography into this creative space and to guide you through a deeper, hands‑on exploration of technique, creativity, and personal style. If you have questions about gear or whether this workshop is right for you, please reach out.

Looking forward to seeing you and your camera soon.
